The NotiGuy app basically turns your phone’s hole punch into a button
So, you can basically install this app, give it the necessary permissions, and then customize the aforementioned button. At any point, while you’re using your phone, you can simply tap on the hole punch, and trigger an action. The app basically creats a thin, circular touch-sensitive field around the hole punch, automatically, and uses it to detect your taps. For example, you can set that button to trigger a screenshot, or launch your recently used apps. On the flip side, you can also assign it to launch a camera, or something else entirely. It’s up to you. That’s not where its functionality ends, though. This app can also function as a heads-up notification hub of sorts. It can replace your phone’s heads-up notifications, and you can customize its functionality.
This app can be used in a number of different ways, actually
On top of that, this app can provide you with various notification effects. It can surround the heads-up notification box with various glowing effects, or make it shake, for example. Do note that the developer is referring to the heads-up notification box as ‘Dynamic Island’. There’s a reason for that, as this is not your typical heads-up notification box. It is dynamic, and it can be there even when your phone’s display is off. It all depends on the settings you chose, but yeah, it has some Dynamic Island functionality from Apple’s iPhones. In fact, you can even move that box to the bottom of the screen, so that it’s more accessible to you. We’re only mentioning some use cases, as the app really does allow for a considerable level of customization. On top of everything, if you want to use this app as a button only, and you don’t like the fact you have to tap your hole punch camera all the time, well, there’s a solution for that too. You can move the trigger area elsewhere. You can place it next to the hole punch, below it, across the status bar, etc. This app does offer a lot of customization, though you can use it as a simple software button, it’s up to you.
