However, the source confirmed that it is a 5,000mAh unit. Multiple reports have previously suggested the same. The device was also previously certified with a 25W charger, though it may not necessarily indicate the maximum power input. We expect Samsung to offer at least 45W of fast charging support on the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Interestingly, Samsung seems to be increasing the battery capacity of the vanilla Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ from their respective predecessors, despite no change in their shape and size. We are reportedly getting 200mAh additional battery power on both models, taking the total battery capacity to 3,900mAh and 4,700mAh, respectively. The company is using stacked-type batteries that are used in EVs (electric vehicles). This tech allows tighter packaging of battery components for more capacity in identical packages. It’s unclear whether the Galaxy S23 Ultra is also using this battery tech. The device getting the same 5,000mAh battery suggests it isn’t. But maybe Samsung has slightly reduced the battery size to make room for other components inside the phone. Perhaps the 200MP camera needed more space and the company had to sacrifice some battery juice for it. Either way, a 5,000mAh battery to go with a more power-efficient processor and display should mean improved battery life on the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Samsung has yet to reveal the Galaxy S23 launch date
Galaxy S23 leaks have started coming more frequently in recent weeks. However, we are still months away from the official unveiling of next-gen Samsung flagships. The company hasn’t revealed any dates yet but it will likely take wraps off the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra in late January 2023, or in early February.
