We reported that Google filed a trademark for Pixel Watch with the United States Patent And Trademark Office a few days ago. This could be a sign to prove the official unveiling is close. The Pixel Watch is now getting closer to its launch after receiving the Bluetooth certification. The design of this smartwatch is also revealed in the pictures for the fans. This is a regular part of unveiling a new product, and any product that wants to use Bluetooth must be certified. As per the latest listing, Google Pixel Watch could receive its Bluetooth certification and will have Bluetooth connectivity. The certificate also reveals some specifications about the product. For example, the SIG listing confirms that the software version number for Pixel Watch is RWD5.211104.001. The current version number for the latest Wear OS 3 emulator on Android Studio is “RWD7.” Of course, it doesn’t mean that Google will launch its Pixel Watch with old software. Using the RWD5 version number has been only for the certification process.
Bluetooth listing says Pixel Watch has three models
But the most important thing that the Bluetooth listing has revealed is that the Pixel Watch will probably be available in three models. As per the listing, three Pixel Watch models with GWT9R, GBZ4S, and GQF4C model numbers are certified. We do not yet know the difference between the three models, but we can guess. Google may want to launch a different model in different world regions. That would be due to varying cellular bands needed. Google has used this strategy for Pixel phones before and will likely do the same for the Pixel Watch.
