Typewise claims its text correction beats the competition

This Switzerland-based company decided to prove its text correction tech is superior in a series of tests. Typewise reports that its autocorrect technology corrects a higher percentage of errors than Google Gboard and Apple Keyboard. It also reports that it delivers “a much lower percentage of micorrected words”. On top of all that, Typewise’s text prediction seems to save a greater percentage of character input than the other two keyboards. The company actually shared a table with us, to let us check the exact numbers. Typewise’s tech correction corrected 72.38-percent of errors, while Google’s and Apple’s offerings corrected 70.64 and 67.59-percent, respectively.

When it comes to miscorrected words, Typewise stands at 0.39-percent, while Google and Apple miscorrected 0.92 and 0.75-percent of words, respectively. The last detail that Typewise shared in this table has to do with the percentage of saved characters. Typewise stands at 65-percent, Google at 48-percent, and Apple at 50-percent.

These tests have been conducted for the English language only

Do note that the tests have been conducted for the English language only. It’s also worth noting that this patent was filed last month. Typewise is an interesting third-party keyboard solution that has been available on Android for quite some time now. The app actually has really good reviews, and we’ve talked about it in the past. This keyboard can be used as a regular keyboard, but its main appeal is the way it works differently from other keyboards. The company’s honeycomb layout can be immensely useful once you get used to it, and Typewise claims it can get you typing faster. If you’d like to try out Typewise, it’s linked below.
