According to a new report, CNN+ will cost $4.99 per month when it launches in Q2 of 2022. On the surface, the monthly cost for CNN+ doesn’t sound too bad. But what are you getting for that price? Not a whole lot, actually. This is cheaper than Fox Nation, which is priced at $5.99 per month, or you can get it a bit cheaper with an annual plan. But when you compare it to CBS News or ABC News Live, which are both free, it does look fairly expensive.

What do you get with CNN+?

So, we don’t know a ton about the service just yet, but we do know some of the content that will be on the service. The first thing to note is that live CNN is not available on CNN+. That is because CNN+ is going to be available as a compliment to CNN. Sort of like what ESPN and ESPN+ does. But, CNN+ will include daily live shows, original series and access to CNN library of series and films. So there will be plenty of content, as well as live content to watch. But your favorite CNN shows won’t be available live, like they are on the CNN cable channel. There will be between eight and twelve hours of live content daily. Basically, this is meant for those that just want some snippets of news, instead of sitting there watching CNN all day long. Essentially, targeting millennials. An interesting feature that WarnerMedia mentioned when it announced CNN+ back in July, was that there will be a “community” feature. This will allow subscribers to connect with anchors and experts in “real-time conversations”. Which is an interesting take, and it’ll be very interesting to see how this works for CNN. The service is set to launch in the second quarter of 2022. So we should learn more in the coming months.
