The Vivo X90 Pro+ appeared in front of the camera for the first time

Let’s talk about the real-life image first (shown below), shall we. That picture got shared by Abhishek Yadav, a tipster, who seems to have spotted it somewhere on Weibo. You can clearly spot the ZEISS branding here, along with a bunch of camera sensors on the back.

One of those camera sensors is obviously a periscope telephoto camera, based on its shape. That one is placed in the top-right corner. We also know that the main camera will be Sony’s IMX989 unit, in other words, a 1-inch camera sensor used in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. You will notice that the back side of this smartphone has a rather interesting color. On top of that, there is a horizontal strip on the back, below the camera island. That strip seems to be a part of the frame, actually. It gives out the illusion the phone is foldable, as it does resemble a hinge.

A second image appeared, giving us a better look at the phone’s back side

Now, in order to take a closer look at the phone’s backplate, and that metal strip, you’ll need to check out the image below. That image was shared by Ice Universe, a well-known tipster, who also confirmed some specs of the phone.

You can clearly see that the back side of this model utilizes vegan leather. The camera island protrusion is also apparent here, while the letters on the metal strip are also easy to read. It says “Xtreme Imagination”, and below it “Vivo I ZEISS Co-engineered”. The tipster says the phone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and feature a Sony IMX989 main camera sensor. He also said that the device’s periscope telephoto camera will support 100x zoom capability. The device will become official before the end of this year. While the design may not be everyone’s cup of tea, it certainly does stand out.
