The ability to move WhatsApp from Android to iOS is not a new feature, and it has been around for a while. But the downside of this migration is users should forget about their chat history, files, and other content. However, the new feature, which is a part of Apple’s “Move to iOS” tool, makes it much safer for WhatsApp users to move from Android to iOS. Of course, the feature is still in the beta phase, and you might come up with some errors and bugs while transferring chats and content. However, it is worth trying if you’re in a rush to move to an iOS device. Also, it still requires you to follow a lengthy process, but it’s the best way to transfer files from Android to iOS.

WhatsApp brings a safer way of migrating from Android to iOS

In order to complete the migration from Android to iOS, you need to follow some steps and make some preparations. First, your iPhone will search for the Move to iOS app when you tap on the “Move data from Android” option to create a peer-to-peer connection. Then, you can select the types of content you want to move from an Android device to an iPhone. You can choose either apps, files, contacts, and more. WhatsApp is about to be added to this list. Once you see WhatsApp’s name in the list, tap on it. Here, it asks for your consent to move the data. Of course, the time required for transferring chat history and other files from an Android device to iPhone depends on the amount of data you select. Apple also pre-loads the WhatsApp icon on your device for easier installation. In the final step, you should authenticate in WhatsApp when you first open it on iOS. After this, all your chats and files are safely transferred to the new device. Apple also allows you to create a backup from your WhatsApp chats in iCloud Drive. To make you more integrated with iOS, Apple checks the apps you installed on your Android device. Then, it shows their icons on the iPhone’s home screen for easier installation without needing to go through the App Store. This feature is available on Android 5 and iOS 15.5 onwards.
