WhatsApp is one of the best companies when it comes to keeping its app updated. At any given moment, WhatsApp is beta testing new features and additions to help make the experience much better. There are other changes coming down the pipeline like being able to message yourself and avatars that you can send as stickers. So, there’s no doubt that this is a well-developed and feature-rich platform. However, you’re only able to use it on one device at a time. The platform does allow you to connect your phone to your computer, but it doesn’t compare to just logging in on a secondary device and using your account.

But, WhatsApp will let people use the same account for multiple devices

This feature is still in beta testing, so it’s not available to the public just yet. Even if you are on the beta, this feature is only available to a select number of beta testers. This means that a lot of beta testers will not have access to it. Also, using this feature is not as straightforward as simply logging in on the companion device. In order to check if you are eligible for this feature, tap on the top-right menu button, and see if you have a “Link device” button. If you do, then you’re able to test out the feature. In order to use it, tap on the Link device button. The app will then generate a QR code to scan. Next, grab your secondary device and scan that QR code. After that, that device will be linked to your WhatsApp account. Since this is a beta test, you should expect bugs for instability. If it’s not working properly, then you might just want to wait for future updates.
