The Nothing Phone (1) drop test is now available to watch

This video has a duration of about 2 and a half minutes, and it’s embedded below the article. The results of this drop test are pretty much expected, so… spoiler alert, if you don’t like to see phones crack, you may want to avoid it. Before we begin talking about this video, do note that the screen protector is installed on the phone. It comes pre-installed on the phone, out of the box, so the creator of the video decided to keep it on. The first drop was from waist-height, and onto the screen. The phone was dropped onto the concrete floor. The phone got scratched up on the frame a bit, and the screen protector lifted up a bit, in the top-right corner. The screen continued working normally. For the second test, the phone was dropped from waist-height, onto the bottom of the device. The phone’s frame got scratched up, but other than that, the phone was just fine.

The third drop caused the phone’s back to shatter

The third test included dropping the phone on its back, from waist-height. After this drop, the phone’s back glass shattered. It did not fall apart, though, and the screen continued working. The fourth test is the most brutal. The Nothing Phone (1) got dropped from chest-height, with its display facing the concrete. This caused the display to crack, but it continued to work after this. The fifth, and final test, included dropping the phone from chest-height onto its side. This caused some deeper scrapes on the frame, but the display continued to work. All in all, the phone did a good job. It got dropped five times, and its glass didn’t fall apart (though it did crack), nor did the phone stop working.
