A teaser trailer was released alongside the announcement. Showing some slick battles between a plethora of Marvel super heroes and a singular, powerful villain – Lilith. Heroes in the trailer include Wolverine, Ghost Rider, Doctor Strange, Blade, Iron Man, and other familiar faces. Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be a tactical RPG, so gameplay can be expected to somewhat mirror that of the XCOM games. At least in some capacity. At the moment no gameplay footage has been released though.
Marvel tactical RPG ‘Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ will have a gameplay reveal soon
If you missed the announcement trailer earlier, you can view it just above. Again though, there’s no gameplay footage in it. This is just a teaser trailer showing off some CGI footage. Still, it’s enough to get any Marvel/tactical RPG fan excited. Having said that, Firaxis is planning to show off a gameplay trailer for Marvel’s Midnight Suns very soon. According to the game’s landing page at the time of writing, the trailer will drop on September 1. Precisely in 6 days and 20 hours. The game will be based on Marvel’s darker themes, featuring supernatural foes and dark costumes to match the tone of the game. The heroes in the game form the Midnight Suns, presented as “earth’s last line of defense against the demonic forces of the underworld.” A far cry from the settings of more recent Marvel games like Marvel’s Avengers or Marvel Future Revolution.
The game release is multi-platform
You can expect Marvel’s Midnight Suns to launch on just about every platform out there. Save for mobile. You will however get the chance to play it on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Firaxis is planning to launch the game in March of 2022. So there’s still a bit of a wait.
