According to AMG’s press release, The Weather Channel will start streaming on YouTube TV sometime this year. Google’s streaming service will also gain select other AMG networks but the company doesn’t name any. It plans to roll out more networks in the future. It’s unclear whether YouTube TV will see a price increase following the arrival of the famed weather tracking channel and other AMG networks on the platform. The service currently costs $64.99 per month and can be used by up to six members. It limits simultaneous streaming to just three accounts though. Nonetheless, this partnership will grow to bring AMG’s streaming apps to other Google platforms as well. These include the Android OS on phones and tablets as well as Google TV and Android TV devices. AMG will leverage this partnership with Google to accelerate its growth

AMG owns dozens of TV stations and networks including The Weather Channel, of course. It boasts over 5,000 hours of original content across multiple genres. The company has nearly 220 million subscribers across its entire portfolio. The company believes this agreement with Google will now help in the growth of its media and digital properties. It will provide “data-driven and secure technology solutions in service of AMG’s current phase of rapid expansion.” In its press release, AMG said it will use Google Cloud’s secure and scalable infrastructure to accelerate its digital evolution. The company is banking on Google’s cloud service to enable it to build apps faster. It also hopes the service to help deepen its connection and relationships with audiences all over the world.
